YourUKCompetitions.co.uk is a full-stack prize competition platform offering instant wins, live draws, free competitions, and a Spin to Win wheel — built entirely from scratch with real-time ticketing, automated draw logic, and a charity-giving programme.
01 — Discovery
The client wanted a competition platform that could go toe-to-toe with established UK raffle sites. The brief covered four competition formats (instant win, live draw, free entry, and Spin to Win), a community blog, charity integration, and a full admin suite for managing competitions without developer involvement.
02 — Design
A dual-theme design (light and dark, toggled per user) with a strong brand identity. Competition cards show countdown timers, ticket sold percentages, and pricing in real time. The homepage hero cycles through featured competitions. The community section has its own editorial layout for blog posts, winner announcements, and charity spotlights.
03 — Development
The most technically complex project in the portfolio. Built in Flask with PostgreSQL and SQLAlchemy. Key systems: real-time ticket counters, Stripe payment integration with webhook handling, an automated draw engine that selects winners randomly and posts results publicly, a Spin to Win wheel with daily rate limiting, user accounts with order history, and a full admin panel covering competition management, blog publishing, charity selection voting, and draw execution.
04 — Launch
The platform launched and is actively running competitions with real players and prizes. It has attracted hundreds of registered users and consistently positive Google reviews praising the variety of competitions, transparent draws streamed live on YouTube, and fast prize delivery. The charity programme donates a portion of proceeds weekly to a community-voted cause.
