01 — Discovery
The client — botanical artist Peter Brassington — needed a platform that matched the delicacy of his work. Existing print-on-demand solutions felt generic, so the brief was for a bespoke Flask site with a custom storefront integrated directly with Printful for fulfilment.
02 — Design
The design centres on the art itself: a dark, immersive hero section with a hand-drawn botanical illustration rendered in Three.js as an interactive 3D element. Typography is minimal so nothing competes with the prints. A warm off-white palette carries through the store and gallery pages.
03 — Development
Built in Flask with a custom storefront querying the Printful API in real time for product variants and pricing. A basket and checkout flow handles order submission directly to Printful's fulfilment pipeline. An admin panel lets Peter add new artworks without touching code.
04 — Launch
The site launched with Peter's full catalogue — botanical sketches, insects, and wildlife — available as canvas and museum-quality giclée from £50. The 3D hero generates consistent comments from visitors and the site handles fulfilment end-to-end without any manual intervention.
